SHAKEY'S TURNS OVER A BRAND-NEW CLASSROOM IN PAMPANGA
As part of its advocacy to improve the quality of education in the country, Shakey’s partnered with Generation Hope in building a brand-new classroom for the Archbishop Emilio Cinense Memorial Integrated School (AECMIS) in San Felipe, Pampanga.
Last November 6, 2018 the classroom was turned over to the public school’s officials in a ceremony attended by Shakey’s Chief Human Resources Officer Ms. Jean Lapa, North Business Unit’s General Manager Mr. Caloy Robles and Guest Engagement Director Mr. Roland Bonifacio. The event was also attended by Generation Hope’s Chairwoman and President Ms. Nanette Medved-Po.
The classroom will be used by the Archbishop Emilio Cinense Memorial Integrated School, a school which has a student population of 165 high school students and 490 elementary students. The construction of the new classroom started in May this year and it can comfortably fit an average of 40 to 45 students.
During the turnover ceremony, Shakey’s also had a tree planting activity where a dedicated fruit tree was named after the company. Other attendees from the event were officials from the local government of San Felipe, representatives from the Department of Education, and school officials from Archbishop Emilio Cinense Memorial Integrated School.
The building of the classroom was funded by Shakey’s through the sales of its “Shakey’s Tubig”. Every purchase of the bottled water goes to the classroom fund.
Shakey’s is committed to build more classrooms in the country especially to the schools where they are mostly needed. In partnership with Generation Hope, Shakey’s aim to address these needs and help in building a better community one classroom at a time.
